Southeast Community Services (SECS) Classes and Offerings for January

(all offerings are at SECS, 901 Shelby, 2nd floor- unless otherwise noted). 236-7400

 

Orientation 2nd and 4th  Mondays at 2pm. Registration from 1pm to 1:45pm (only first 10 accepted). 3rd Wed; Dec. 16th at 8:30am is a bilingual session, register at 8am. All sessions explain all services offered at Southeast Community Services and steps to take to best serve you.

Free Tutoring Program Mon. through Thurs. from 4pm-6pm. SECS Homework Support Program is a free program offered to 12-17 year old students living on the southeast side of Indy. Each student will receive homework assistance, afternoon snack and $$$ incentives for completing the program. Contact: Tiffany Boyd, Youth Program Coordinator 317-236-7400 ext 241

 Interview Skills Workshop Wednesdays from 10-11am. Assists with preparing for those tough questions that come up during interviews. Come to receive assistance on how to interview and answer any questions you have about interviewing.

Job Club Thursdays 10-11am at SECS, Tips on interviewing, job search, filling out applications, meeting with employers, & money management.

Computer Classes: Free! Microsoft Office classes, which includes small group instruction on whatever Word, Excel and PowerPoint questions you might have.  Weekly class times are Mon. from 6 to 8pm; Thur. from 5:30 to 7:30pm and Sat. from 9:45 to 11:45am. Beginning Computer Basics classes (Tues, Wed, Sat.)12-1pm. Classes are in the SECS computer lab.  For more info, call Ondina Schrunder or Brian Kern at 236-7400 ext. 247

English as a Second Language (ESL) and Learn to speak Spanish using the self-paced Rosetta Stone Program.  Mondays and Thursdays, 5pm to 8pm. Classes are offered in three levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced).Classes are FREE.  For more info. Contact Ondina Schrunder at 236-7400, ext. 247.

DIGS Group (A.A.) Every Tuesday 7pm At Southeast Community Services, 901 Shelby, 2nd floor All are welcome, no invitation or appointment needed.
